Joshua A. Merrills is a graduate of Troy University, where he obtained his Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
Joshua’s career began as a Case Manager at McIntosh Youth Development Center which was a secure custody facility for males between the ages of 13 to 17. Working in the Juvenile Justice field of secure custody, ignited Joshua’s passion and drive for holistic change amongst youth, families, and systems.
Joshua has spent the last 15-years, working in the Juvenile Justice and Social Service fields as a Behavioral Specialist, Mental Health Case Manager, Facility Manager, Senior Probation Officer, Outreach Specialist, Fostering Connections Specialist, and a Fostering Connections Specialist Supervisor.
It is Joshua's goal to bridge the gaps that exist in the lives of youth and families through information, education, awareness, skill development, and coaching. Joshua is a military spouse and has a beautiful wife Cindy and son Jacob. Joshua has also had the pleasure of living in 5 different states and another country. Due to traveling and having been exposed to different cultures, Joshua’s lens has shifted, his biases have been challenged as well as his view on life. Joshua in his down time enjoys fitness, reading, playing golf, and cooking.
