About the event

Description

Trainees will learn seven core competencies that will help them understand and integrate emerging science about the adolescent brain into their work with youth.  Participants will learn how experiences in the Foster Care System itself can contribute to negative outcomes for youth and how positive experience can rewire the brain to heal from trauma. Participants will also learn the importance of giving youth voice and choice because the skills that are not used brain science tells us that it is lost.

Format

This course is an online training that consists of 6 sessions that are 2hrs each for a total of 12 hours. However, there are times we have trainings where we shorten the amount of weeks by meeting more than once.

Trainees are expected to be present for at minimum, 10 hours of the 12 hours. This course offers 12 CEU's, a post test and survey upon completion are required in order to receive the certificate of completion. The survey and post test will be administered on the last day of training.
